I'M IN THE MOOD
i'm in the mood fo nothing. i like it when i'm like this. it's something like rasta-ing. only thing you wanna do is just slumped into a seat and stretched yourself and nod off with a sleepy smile on yo face. and nothing faze you. not even the fact that you are actually at work, using the company's computer to blog and read up on shitty things.
nope, not even that.
i think it's coz i'm plugged-in to the beastie boys. listeing to boomin' granny now. the track that inspired it all. the track that christened the only hiphop guy i ever had a crush on (and still am). gawd i've been crushing on him since '99. half a decade yo! heh, i'm old, he's old but i dig him anyway. here's to my booming granny! may you have the choc to rawk well into yo golden years, dude.
what's cooler than the strokes? the beastie boys. why are they cooler than the strokes? because pennywise sang their song on tour, they went on tour with madonna once, they set up xlarge, they set up grand royal (but now that's over), they are buds with A Tribe Called Quest and Run DMC... hell, they're buds with most of my favourite bands.
i once had a thought that if i ever had a chance to go to one show in the states it'll be the Tibetan Freedom Concert. this was before the RATM break-up and SP break-up, of coz. simply coz they had all the best acts playing at that concert. including the beastie boys (coz they were the ones organising it).
they're from queens, all of them are/was jews. mca converted to a buddhist before he got that idea to do the Tibetan Freedom Concert. i used to be really obsessed with them. right after i thought i couldn't do anymo angst (i was drunk on SP's Mellon Collie N The Infinite Sadness at that time). they are so hysterically funny and crass. i like! nobody could understand why i dig those guys. coz everybody else was either listening to hardcore gangstar rap or in-your-face pop.
you guys suck for not understanding. call yoselves my friends.
nothing cheers me up like a beastie boys album.
