BK and the Rollins Band

you know i always wonder why some fast food joints have vinyl records of old skool rock bands as their primary interior decor. McDonald's and Burger King joints to be specific. i was sitting down at the BK in Bedok this morning and i saw the Rollins Band hanging off one wall. Rollins Band -Henry Rollins' band after Blackflag. and i was like whoa. how many local kids here is gonna know who that was? how many actually cares? geezus kena desecrated just like that. upon close inspection, the thing was faded and is clollecting dust. use Backstreet Boys next time, guys.

there's this newspaper article which interests me. 'It was quite an ego trip' by Li Xueying for Life! Wed, April 21, 2004. it's about Singapore groupies. yeh! i was trying to figure out which bands these local girls fucking around with. i wonder if anybody fucked the Red Hot Chili Peppers when they were here. i remember what Nasty Naz told me about one of the members of Black Eye Peas. bet he got lucky when he was here for the MTV Asia Awards. sure thing, right, Naz?

this writer made a reference to that Kate Hudson movie Almost Famous when she wrote this article. i like that movie by the way coz i think Kate is such a sweetheart and well, groupies are essential. people love to hate them, people think they're immoral beings but ultimately your average rockstar needs to get some at the end of the day. because they are men. unless of coz you're Thurston Moore. everywhere you tour also have to fuck your wife.

it's like what Kate Hudson was in that movie -a Band Aid. makes sense, don't it? but there are groupies whose attittude is just too goddamn overdose. like Nancy for example, the Nancy who got murdered by Sid Vicious. groupies were never meant to be ambitious. look what happened to Nancy ...and Courtney Love for that matter. become band roadie, sudah! will i ever become a groupie? i might harp about it for a bit but i think i'd be too anal and too goddamn lazy to be following a bunch of dudes around. got better things to do like mooning over Juan. heh heh. heart yer.
