this was found in nenek's sister's house. i know her name but i dunno the spelling of it. kakak, help me out here pls! i was bored and she had a stack of old albums in her living room so i flipped through them without permission. picture's a lil shitty coz it was taken by Null's 6230 (no more the Hellomoto series, friends). but it'll do.

momma's on the left, the solemn girl with the pigtails. if you look at her now you wouldn't have guess it's her. over the years she has become a whore to cosmetic consumerism and she sorta defaced herself with pricey over-the-counter gunk. i think none of us look like her. okay, maybe my sister. the matriarch of this family, her momma, is the granny that's living with us. i find she doesn't look like your typical Bawean island girl. she seems more like the Hindi/Majapahit femme of the Jawa variety. doink (that's my oldest cousin from this side of the family) is the lil one in that lady's arms. that's her momma of course. kakak, i like you better when you're a baby.

i went on the trip with the boy on the far right and the girl who's sitting down in this picture, brother and sister to my momma. the rest of them who's standing are also aunt and uncles to me. and yes those two in the middle sitting down are my grandparents, my nenek and my late atuk, someone i've never met coz he passed away even before momma got married. he must be one impressive man. he's got a lot of relations in Bawean.

the one standing is the ungrateful granddaughter, in the middle of negotiations with the Hindi/Majapahit lookalikey holy matriarch for more rupiahs. unfortunately she was intercepted by her most nosy aunt. aunt is telling her not to spend all her money on kretek. the girl beside her is her daugther, 9th cousin in the line to the ungrateful granddaughter. picture was once again taken with Null's 6230, at the hotel across from Ampel Lonceng, the Arab Street of Surabaya.
